Brass Fittings

Brass fittings are commonly used in plumbing applications because they are best suited to hot-water distribution lines. However, they are not quite as ductile in colder temperatures. They have good conductivity and a low magnetic permeability.

Brass has a longer lifespan than many alternative metals, such as steel. It offers great corrosion resistance from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils contained in water. Brass is a soft metal that is easy to install and creates a tight seal. It offers many of the same advantages of copper, but provides a heavier wall.
